When you don’t know what to do…

limbo

Have you been in a situation when you didn’t know what to do?  Do you feel like you’re in limbo?  Are you pressured to make a decision right now?   Do this or that?  Go here or there?  Choose this or that?

What can you do when you don’t know what to do?

Let me give you some suggestions:

1.  Don’t panic–it is easy when you are under pressure to make a choice to let fear dominate your life.  Remember Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid, I will give you peace…” (John 14:27)

2.  Stay calm–it is easier said than done, but you have to “stay cool…”  Calm depends on the inner (spirit) man who understands God is in control.  (Romans 8:6)

3.  You can pray–as a believer, you have an enormous advantage to go to God in prayer; a simple way for you to let God know what you’re feeling! (Matthew 6:6)

4.  You can trust–why pray if you don’t trust God?  Trust means that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God wants more for you than what you can want for yourself… (Proverbs 3:5-6)

5.  You can relax–this is quite opposite of what you are doing right now…it is easier to fret, get frustrated, doubt, fear, speak negatively, and stress out!  Relax doesn’t mean sit still or do nothing!  Relax means having a quiet confidence that all is OK!  (Romans 8:25)

Uncertainty is God’s dominion…He’s already working behind the scenes for you!

Fel, I have two adopted children, one of whom is about to turn 16, but has a low IQ and many special needs, the younger one is 10 and just needs a lot of mom time. I also have a 13-y-o son who is severely dyslexic and I just learned that he has an auditory processing disorder, and needs lots of therapy for these issues. I homeschool and I work part-time. I’m pretty overwhelmed and tired, and have been praying about what to do. This message is very timely. Thanks for sharing God’s Word. Angie

Lately when I’ve started to get worked up or fearful, I go to Psalms. David’s heart, even as a King, knew that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies was in control. He praised God amidst his fears, trials, sorrows but also in his victories. Psalm 23 says the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not lack for any good thing. God wants us to see blessing, even when we are in trials…..if I can remember one thing in life…..these things here and now are temporary and how I respond in my heart and trust in my spirit God’s plan, then there is no need for worry or fear. Beside still waters He leads me….He restores my soul. Often times I feel physically tired but I can usually muster enough strength to get a needed job done….but when I recognize those still waters He puts before me….I see magnificent sunsets, a sweet smell of rain after a storm,
a simple flower blooming amidst a bunch of weeds, a friend’s smile or compliment. I have to remind myself to bring forth a heart of gratitude. Ps George asked us on Sunday to put the rally cap on! We need a rally! Yes, Lord, we do. We know YOU are in control. We trust YOU Lord.

Received a text message about a huge amount that is due tomorrow. Hit flat panic and happened to surf onto your site. Thanks for reminding me to stop, breathe, pray, trust and go calmly about doing what I can, knowing God will do the rest. Thanks so much.
