My top 10! Wow! I wish I was so well-read in this area. I can only hope to gain more knowledge of the One who saved me from the pit of hell! I’m actually reading right now the novel “Left Behind” by Tim LaHaye and Jenkins (it’s an old book by now). It’s pretty amazing how they view the earth’s last days. It’s becoming more evident to me that these are indeed the last days and we have to learn and grow and become more like Christ without excuses that I can do it tomorrow. I know I didn’t do too well this morning…last day of school and all….I never do well with rushing and hate to be late for my job or meetings, etc. so I get on edge. I don’t think I was focusing on being “spiritual”. So, what is spiritual/spirituality? Hmmm?

It’s striving for that which is not seen or not felt - I am present in this world and lots of stuff gets in the way to bog me down BUT when I seriously meditate on Christ’s presence within me, my spirit self is set free and I forget and/or think little of those things (worldly) that are of no value.

It’s that very quiet inner calming voice of the Holy Spirit from which flows abundant freedom - that my home is not here and my number one job is to strive to put on the character of Christ. I’m glad that Paul said he had not attained it yet!

It’s knowing that the only way to put on the character of Christ is to be humble before God and seek His face when handling tough situations. (Problem is sometimes I still get in to the reaction mode–especially with teenagers at home).

This one is not my own thought but something I read: spirituality is intentionally transforming oneself to the nature of Christ.
I find I am a mere babe when it comes to REALLY having Christ’s nature about me. It’s easy to be nice to people at church that I don’t see everyday but it becomes a greater sacrifice around family members and those closest to us. Why am I so convinced sometimes that they are lost and I’m the one who knows it all? What about how I am acting or being perceived might contribute to their questions of what it is to be a follower of Christ? Ouch, ouch!!

I really know so little when I spend time before God. If I really knew HIM and tapped into His power it would NOT be hard to put on Christ’s character. How do I love the unlovely….the people who reject me? So many times I go away in tears thinking that I have just been persecuted when all that really happens is that I have forgotten again that it isn’t what others think of me but knowing who I am in HIM.

Maybe spiritual is being so low as to say to my Savior, I can do NOT ONE GOOD THING without YOUR power, love and grace. Jesus gives me opportunity each day to be like Him. I have to remember to pick myself up again, brush off dirt from the mess I made (or at least contributed to) and say, Ok, I’m doing this again, Lord because, I WANT TO BE LIKE YOU MORE AND MORE EACH DAY!!!

    1. Quiet time with Jesus- alone 2. Listening to His voice–speaking in my mind just to me, for the moment, exactly what I need to hear 3. Being outside–seeing his creation, feeling the ocean or the breeze or looking at the depth of the Grand Canyon or feeling the furry fuzz of our new kitten up against my cheek 4. Meditating on the Word 5. Praising Him from my heart- just because I want to 6. Receiving a revelation from nowhere–to meet my secret need 7. Worshiping with other believers and feeling the presence in that place (not just in the building, but in me), 8. Telling the Lord my deepest desires and secrets 9. A feeling of peace that only comes from Him 10. Seeing prayers answered
